Pine State Hauling and Junk Removal received a call to remove a very heavy tub from a nice lady located in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. We informed her that no matter what it is we will figure out a way of getting it out of her basement. If it is steel it will be much lighter than cast iron, relatively speaking. The guys at Pine State hauling and Junk Removal asked if they could take a seldge hammer to the tub to see if it was steel or cast iron. The lady said to go ahead and we took a 10 pound sledge hammer to one side of it and although it took a couple swings it eventually broke and we knew it was cast iron and decided to move forward with a sledge hammer as that is the quickest and most efficient way of taking down a cast iron tub. So we proceeded to smash the rest of the tub and take it out in multiple pieces and we were done within 20 minutes.
